Bus Shelters, Port Stephens

The Project

PEC Successfully tendered for and won 2x supply contracts for Port Stephens Council in New South Wales to fabricate and deliver 15 new Bus Shelters.

The project scope included :

  • Design and Fabrication of 15 x DDA and DSAPT compliant Bus Shelters
  • Shelters also required full DDA and DSAPT Seating
  • Delivery to Council

The Challenge

Port Stephens Council had a replacement program that required the fabrication, assembly and delivery of all shelters prior to the new school term starting in 2024.

With Fabrication and assembly happening in our fabrication facility in Victoria, there were logistical challenges to meet the requirements of councils onsite expectations. The Bus Shelter design also had to meet the DDA and DSAPT (Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport) requirements.

The Solution

PEC tendered our newly certified “ULTRA 1” Bus Shelter to
council along with custom addition of Council branding and
colour to fit Councils design guide.

PECs “ULTRA 1” Shelter is fully certified as compliant to DDA and DSAPT requirements (Certification BS-23-346) and as such provided the client with the peace of mind that compliant products were being supplied under the contract.

The Outcome

All 15 “ULTRA 1” shelters were fabricated, assembled and delivered on time for Port Stephens Council to install in time!
